Code of Conduct for County Team Representatives

As a County Team Representative in Inter County Events and National Championships you should:

  • Remember that you are representing the County of Essex first & foremost, you are part of a Team, not competing as an individual.
  • Help create and maintain an environment free of fear and harassment
  • Respect the advice that you receive from Team Managers & Coaches
  • Support your Team regardless of your individual result
  • Treat others as you would wish to be treated yourself
  • Respect other people and their differences
  • Look out for yourself and for the welfare of others
  • Be organised and on time Tell your Team Manager if you are leaving the venue
  • Accept that these guidelines are in place for the well-being of all concerned
  • Treat Team Managers, Team Members, organisers and coaches with respect
  • Observe instructions or restrictions requested by the adults looking after you
  • Respect & abide by any regulations set by your Team Managers
  • Never disrespect the privilege of representing your County in any way

You should not take part in any irresponsible, abusive, inappropriate or illegal behaviour which includes:

  • Using foul language
  • Publicly using critical or disrespectful descriptions of others either in person or through text, email or social network sites
  • Consuming excessive alcohol or any illegal performance-enhancing drugs or stimulants
