County Card

With your Essex County Card, you can play at over 1,400 clubs across 35 counties — including 59 clubs in Essex — often at the member’s guest rate.

Use the “Participating Clubs” menu for the latest listings, and remember to call ahead to confirm availability and price.

Only amateur members of affiliated clubs are eligible, ensuring all card holders are genuine golfers with official WHS handicap and who understand the rules and etiquette of the game.

How to get a County Card or renew your current one!

Your digital County Card is available through an app developed by intelligentgolf called igCounty. The app is available for both iPhone and Android. Your County Card is valid for one year and will need to be renewed on the 1st January each year. Please follow the instructions below.

If you are renewing your County Card you must first delete the igCounty app from your device and then follow the instructions below, otherwise your County Card will not update.

1 Go to your app store, search for the igCounty app and download it to your device.

2.Once installed click on the Menu button in the top left hand corner and pick County Selection a list of counties will appear. Scroll down the list until you come to Essex Golf, check the appropriate circle which will turn green with a tick. Click on the yellow Save at the bottom of the screen and you will be returned to the Home screen.

3.In the bottom right hand corner of the screen you will see an icon County Card click on it and click next. Enter your WHS ID, Last Name and email address. Enable Notifications if you wish to receive updates. Click the yellow Activate County Card button and your County Card will appear. If your County Card has not updated delete the App again and restart your phone before reinstalling.

County Card FAQs

I don't know my WHS Number	If you use the igMember App you will find your WHS No. under Handicap Record. Otherwise contact your Golf Club who will be able to tell you.
The County Card on my device is showing expired	You will need to refresh the igCounty App on your device by going to the App Store.
When I clicked the button to activate my card I got the message 'Cannot find Home Club'	Email office@essexgolf.org providing the name of your golf club.
The App is not working properly on my device	Refresh the App. If the App is still not working delete it and reinstall.
The Add to Wallet feature is not working	This is a bug in the App. It has been reported to the developer so it can be fixed.
