Women's County Teams

County Team Manager - Amanda Colgate-Herbert - Rochford

The First Team is selected following the Women's County Championship and then participates in the East Region Inter‐County Match Days playing each of the other five counties over three days, usually in late June. The format of each match is two foursomes and three singles in each session am and pm, all played off scratch.

This year the East Region County Match Days hosted by Cambs & Hunts Women's Golf at
St Ives Golf Club from 11th - 14th June 2026.

The winners of the East Region Inter-County Match Days then progress to the England County Finals and will play the winners of the five other England regions during the course of five days. This year the English Women's County Finals will be held at Betchworth Park from 27th - 31st July 2026.

The Second Team participates in East Region County Match Days playing teams from Bedfordshire, Cambs & Hunts, Norfolk and Suffolk Second Teams over three days. The format of each match is two foursomes and three singles in each session am and pm, all played off scratch.

This year we are delighted to say that the Second Team East Region County Match Days will be hosted by Essex Golf at Langdon Hills Golf Club and Country Club from the 23rd - 25th August 2026.

Seniors Team Manager - Julie Finegan - Chigwell Golf Club

The Seniors Team plays matches in the Eastern Regions League against Norfolk, Suffolk, Hertfordshire and Cambs & Hunts and Bedfordshire. Each team fields 6 players, the format is singles scratch matchplay at alternating home or away venues.

We participate in the Mulligan Larsen Bowl which runs as a league each season, 2026 is the 11th season for this competition. We play senior teams from Surrey, Sussex, Kent, Middlesex and Hampshire. Each team fields 6 players, the format is singles scratch matchplay also at alternating home or away venues.

A team of four players is selected to compete in the Women's Inter‐County Team Championship (10 counties). The format is singles medal play off scratch with the best three scores counting. This alternates around the ten participating counties with Hampshire hosting in 2026.

We're always on the lookout for new players! So if you, or anyone you know are over 50 with a HI +-9.4 and might be interested in playing with us then please email Julie Finegan the Seniors Team Captain for further information.
